Lady Buffs basketball changed forever at the University of Colorado at Boulder when Ceal Barry came to town in 1983 and started coaching women’s basketball.

The average attendance was barely 100 in that year, but by 1989 the Lady Buffs were playing to sold out crowds and winning championships. Barry has remained on the coaching staff at CU for more than three decades. With over 500 wins during her coaching career, Barry has inspired fans and players to embrace women’s basketball with a passion previously reserved for the men’s game.
