Given by the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture at their annual gala, the Ceiba Award recognizes individuals that have made indelible contributions in support of the Puerto Rican people and its rich culture and tradition. Each year, the image of the ceiba - the national tree of Puerto Rico - together with the island's flag are interpreted and depicted by a different Puerto Rican artist. On this occasion, painter Antonio Martorell made the award given to Lin-Manuel Miranda in 2019, including the word "raíces" honoring his roots.
