Living Heritage - Sadeh – a late winter festival, is celebrated to welcome a change from the dark winter to light and warmth. Traditionally believed that King Hoshang of the Peshdadian dynasty celebrated this festival to commemorate the discovery of fire. Although not recently celebrated in India, diasporic communities have seen the participation of women become increasingly important, of even carrying the fire.
