Mookiah was a senior sculptor and teacher of the Madras Movement. His medium was mostly terracotta and clay cast in bronze. In the sixties, he produced a number of works depicting men and animals. His themes were mostly drummers, riders, etc. This piece consists of five such sculptures grouped together.
