Central Hall of the First Alexandra Palace

The first Alexandra Palace reused building materials from the 1862 International Exhibition. The central hall ran west-east the whole length of the building, which assisted the spread of the fire. The second Palace divided the spaces to reduce the risk and rotated the hall orientation north-south.
