For many years Marek Bebłot accompanied Krzysztof Penderecki portraying him at work and in the garden and park in Lusławice. The black and white photograph shows the composer in profile. Behind his head there is a garden vase filled with flowers. Its shape and location bring to mind the plume decorating centurion's – Roman commander's – helmet. The photographer made use of this interesting and surprising effect to create a humorous and sympathetic portrait of the great composer. The classic, profile depiction resembles images of emperors known from Roman coins and is a nod towards Krzysztof Penderecki's classical education and his passion of collecting.
