Ikat is a very old warp dyeing method used to color fabrics. In contrast to other resist-dyeing dyeing methods, warp threads are first dyed and then weaved into the textile to create decorative patterns. Since the thread is dyed before it is fed into the loom, and different fabrics are used to print the entire pattern. Cross-bleeding of fabrics during the dyeing process causes a unique blurred edges effect, imbuing the weave with its unique, unpredictable style.
