Laminations for a model of a bending magnet for the SPS being machined in the CERN Main Workshop. It has been possible to begin building model magnets quickly once the design had been finalized thanks to the cooperation of the ISR Magnet Group who made available steel of the appropriate quality left over from ISR magnet production. Model magnets are being built to check both magnetic properties and construction techniques.
