A strip of mail that’s now corroded into a solid piece of iron oxide. The rings may have originally been around 8cm in diameter and each ring would have been joined by a rivet. This was probably used as a sleeve lining or part of the shoulder or nech of abrigandine. Its dated to 1500 to 1620 and shown with a modern reporduction of chain mail.
