his image is part of the Arthur Witman Collection. A native of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Witman began his career in photography during four years of service in the U. S. Army Air Force, 1923-1927. He spent the following years working as an aerial photograph mapper in Texas and teaching in Chanute, Illinois. He worked as a photographer for the St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper from October 1932 until his retirement in 1969.
