Also known as a Dante chair, this chair looks like it should fold, but does not. Charles Alexander MacNeilledge, the architect at Scottys Castle, bought it in Italy during his three month European tour in 1929. Albert Johnson sponsored the buying trip to furnish his winter vacation home. In an oral interview with Mrs. McNeilledge in 1974, she stated "they would buy the original old one and then have copies made." Copies of this chair are found though out the Castle.
