Cylindrical vessel has a wide and massive rim hanging over the body. The body is girded with a strip of relief meander. On its sides are two vertical handles in the form of a schematically depicted animal with long ears and extended paws. On the outer rim there are a deeply carved Greek letter V(?) and faintly scratched zigzag lines and dashes.
The vessel was probably used to prepare a potion. This is evidenced by the remains of a resinous substance with plant particles inside. However, it turned out to be impossible to establish which parts of the plants (and which species) were part of the substance.
Most likely, the woman who was buried in the barrow of the Sokolova Grave belonged to the Sarmatian elite and was, judging by everything, a priestess or a sorceress. In addition to this stone potion bowl, about 40 different amulets, a sacrificial knife with a whetstone, ritual pommels and a bone statuette of a goddess in the position of giving birth were found in the burial.
