This charkha was kept in the storeroom of the house. The woman of the family used to sit on pidhi (stool) or patadi (low seat) while making cotton threads on charkha. Later, those threads were used to make blankets and durries for everyday use. Sometimes, these were gifted to relatives on special occasions.
