Politically aligned with the conservative liberals, the deeply devout Catholic Eyschen supports the Apostolic Vicar from his arrival in Luxembourg. In 1844, he is one of the supporters of the short-lived Catholic Luxemburger Zeitung. In 1848, he will be among the founders of the Luxemburger Wort.
