Charm with cowries and copper sewn on cow skin made by a medicine man or a man who makes it on his behalf and sells it to him. It is worn to protect one against coughing particularly whooping cough and bad spirits that cause the coughs. It is worn by anyone who has a cough to cure it and prevent it from occurring again in future.
