The urban regeneration project of Dongnam-gu Office in Cheonan is aimed at creating a new economic hub to revitalize the declining downtown area around the Dongnam-gu Office in Cheonan.
It is a private participation urban regeneration project jointly promoted by the city of Cheonan, LH, the Housing and Urban Fund, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction. It is the No. 1 project supported by the Urban Account of the Housing and Urban Fund since the implementation of the Housing and Urban Fund Act, and is considered as the best example of urban regeneration projects.
Public facilities such as public health centers, knowledge industry centers, Dongnam-gu office, a children’s hall, a happy dormitory (for college students), public parking lots, commercial facilities, and residential facilities (Hillstate Cheonan) will be installed on the site of the Dongnam-gu office.
In the future, public facilities such as the Dongnam-gu Office, dormitories and the children’s center will be completed and fully operational in December 2019. The Knowledge Industry Center will begin construction on remodeling later this year, with fifteen companies and organizations confirmed to move in. The residential and commercial complex apartment is expected to become a landmark building with forty-seven floors which was difficult to see in the old downtown area and will be completed and moved in by March 2021.
