This trim detail from marbleized limestone has a polished surface and a not quite regular hand-carved scheme of latitudinal and barely visible longitudinal lines. The lines divide the surface into squares 3.5 x 3.5 cm in size. It is believed to have been made by soldiers from the Muscovite army when they were dislocated in the Vilnius Castle in 1655–1661. Later on, it was simply discarded when the palace surrounds were being cleared.
