Chester Beatty and Harold A. Titcomb

This photograph shows Beatty (left) and Harold A. Titcomb (right) on a mining expedition in Colorado around the turn of the twentieth century. Good friends since university, Beatty and Titcomb worked well together on mining projects early on in their careers – Beatty the authority on mining matters and ‘H.A.T.’ his trusted assistant whose experience in the wilderness kept them out of harm’s way.
