Children playing in the playground at Lancashire Hill, Stockport

John Laing and Son Ltd were engaged by the County Borough of Stockport to build 1,200 homes. The firm built two, twenty-two storey blocks using the Storiform system, and six linked blocks of four to eight storeys using the 12M Jespersen system. These were grouped around three courtyards that included children's playgrounds and a lawned area with flower beds.
