Child’s penny-farthing
Manufacturer unknown, England, around 1880
The rare child’s penny-farthing did not see much use. As only a small number of child’s bicycles were produced in the 19th Century, they were expensive and could only be bought by the upper classes and the gentry. The example on display is a scaled-down copy of the adult version in all its components.
