The Chilkat, a Tlingit sub-group, are famous for their dance blankets made of mountain goat wool and cedar bark. Delicately woven Chilkat blankets are part of the ceremonial clothing of high-ranking families. In the course of a Potlatch celebration, they were given as special awards or gifts.
