Nature is reinterpreted and reorganised through the artist's subjective eye to emphasise the essential forms and complex textures of mountains and rocks so as to inspire the viewer to realise the wonder and grandeur of nature. Elements of Chinese garden such as pavilions, pagodas and rainbow bridges, shapes and patterns of ancient bronzes, texture from stone rubbings of the Han dynasty, and masks from Peking Opera are part of his artistic repertory. In his late years, Kwong developed a keen interest in painting snowy landscapes, such as the Rocky Mountains, which were enlivened in rich shades of colours. Embodying the Chinese's philosophy in the consummation of Man and nature, the artist has blended modern design concepts with Western abstract aesthetics, and found a breakthrough in the temporal-spatial relationship of our daily experience.
