View of the Chinese Nationality Room inside the Cathedral of Learning. The design of the Chinese Room was influenced by an 18th century reception hall in Peiping’s Forbidden City. The mural on the wall depicts the great Chinese thinker Confucius and the circular table is designed to reflect his belief of equality between teachers and students. The room was dedicated October 6, 1939.
