With more than 100 years old, the Chinese View Pagoda shows a different angle to the main sights of Rio de Janeiro. Located in the Alto da Boa Vista, in the Tijuca Forest, the monument was erected in 1903 in honor of the Chinese immigrants who came to the country for tea cultivation. The Pagoda in metal frame is coated with mortar that mimics bamboos and also has gargoyles of oriental dragons. Their heads facing the landscape seem to admire the beautiful carioca view.
