CHRISTMAS DINNER
Ida Uhse writes about Christmas Day when the meal from the menu was taken at the Gezirah Palace:
“25th of Dec. The Countess and I went at 9:30 in the morning to the German church where later the de Marés picked us up and we walked them around and showed them all sorts of things. The streets were horribly dirty, we could barely make our way through. In the evening the Cedercrantzes, Consul-General Östberg, the de Marés and the Geijers came for dinner at the Count and Countess von Hallwyl's, and they were all very pleased.”
