Houses in villages of Haryana often have an outdoor kitchen as well as an indoor one. Outdoor kitchens are generally set up in courtyards of the houses and are used to cook food using chulha. The indoor kitchens usually have a contemporary cooking setup using a gas stove. This chulha in the outdoor kitchen was mainly used to make roti, boil milk and water or prepare tea.
