This is St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kyiv, which stands on Velyka Vasylkivska street. The construction of the cathedral lasted for 10 years and was finished in 1909. To build it, an innovative material of that time – ferroconcrete, was applied. The style of the cathedral is neo-gothic. The project was designed by a student of the institute of civil engineers – Stanislav Valovskyi and then it was further developed by a renowned architect Władysław Horodecki. Kyiv owes a lot of its most iconic landmarks to the creative genius of Horodecki. Among them: House with Chimaeras, Karaite Kenesa and National Art Museum of Ukraine.
