Following the expansion of the homonymous district, where an hermitage was located (1265), the church was originally dedicated to Our Lady “Mater Puerum.” It has a single nave with five altars. The façade has a beautiful aspect and it consists of two external pillars used as buttresses and put within a frame with tip-shaped architectural elements.
