The Assumption wooden church was built in 1783 in the Kalichanka district (a former suburb of Chernivtsi). It is assumed that it was built by the same craftsmen as the Holy Trinity Church (similar plan, only slightly different proportions). Back in the 1980s, the roofs of the church were under shingles (probably covered with sheet metal in the early 1990s). One of the interesting exterior elements are paired windows in the walls of the nave. Architectural monument. In use by the Orthodox community of KP. You will see the church on the street. Novoushytska, near the cemeteries on Zelena Street (east of the center of Chernivtsi). Located surrounded by trees, on a slope. Another one of the many preserved wooden churches of the house type, which is characteristic mainly of Bukovyna. It rests on a stone foundation, the nave is slightly wider than the nave and the altar (it is oriented to the southeast), covered with a common multi-pitched roof. Fortunately, the church was not disfigured by additions, authentic small windows were preserved. The entrance to the church is from the south to the babinets. The belfry (built on the site of the original one from the 18th century (?)) is a two-story brick tower located west of the church.
