It was the first building erected by the Portuguese on their arrival at the Captaincy of Pernambuco. It is an architectural complex with Ionic columns, jacaranda wood furniture, oil paintings, Portuguese tiles panels and magnificent altar gold veneered on the sides. Its facade had many different styles but today it shows the mannerist style.
