This type of châtelaine is called an équipage, given that it was used as a container designed to transport objects. Made of ormolu, a copper and zinc alloy that imitates gold, it consists of four main pieces. The top piece is triangular and extends along the back in the form of a tab. The second piece has seven chains with links in pebble formation, at the ends of which hang hexagonal cases to hold the thimble (element now lost) and another unidentified object. The third has three hooks. And the last has a hexagonal case that various instruments are fitted into: scissors, needle, punch, ivory sheet for writing, a snuff spoon and a pencil. It is decorated with floral motifs, as well as a male and female figure dressed in the pastoral style. It is shown together with its case, made of sharkskin.
