Cidalia

Ferha says: "My portrait of Cidália, a young Portuguese Critical Care Nurse on the frontline of Covid-19 doing amazing work in the Intensive Care Unit of Barts Hospital. Cidalia particularly wanted to be shown against the background of the community she serves.

I painted her with Barts behind her at 8pm on a Thursday during May 2020 - a recipient of the weekly 'Clap for Carers'. The painting attempted to capture Cidália and also the spirit of the country, at this time. Thank you and all the other healthcare professionals and key workers for all you have been doing for us."

Cidália says: "Thank you so much for this lovely portrait. I love the fact that the artist included the community that I care for in my portrait. Hopefully we will meet soon."
