Thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Matera not only celebrates culture as an element of cohesion between European countries, but chooses the slogan "Open Future" to emphasize the message, apparently in contrast to the international political scene, that you cannot talk about culture without it being really open and accessible.
But will this really be the case?
"Matera Open City", a two-year project in collaboration with Italian and European artists and partners, which focuses on diversity, the construction of barriers and the (ab)use of power, proposing a reflection on accessibility, inclusion and overcoming borders. It is a dystopian provocation, with the intention of building, over time, new utopian visions.
