A watercolour of a branch of a citron tree (Citrus medica) with the life cycle of a monkey slug moth (Phobetron hipparchia) and a harlequin beetle (Acrocinus longimanus). This is a version of plate 28 in Merian's Metamorphosis Insectorum Surinamensium.
