The original building of the town hall was built in 1695 p. in the style of the late Renaissance and had the appearance of a nine-story round tower with a stone base. In the 18th century the dungeon of the town hall served as a place of imprisonment for opryshkas. It suffered significant destruction during the First World War. After reconstruction in 1929-1935, it acquired a cross-shaped appearance (arch. S. Trelya) and has preserved this appearance to this day. The tower, which rises from the base of the cross and has a height of 49.5 meters, ends with a peculiar dome that resembles a military helmet, which is covered with gilding and is the only civilian building in Ukraine with such a coating. On April 15, 1990, the Ukrainian national flag was raised at the town hall. Now it houses the Regional Museum of Local Lore.
