"Classic Hop'us", 2016

Classic Hop’us is an educational project. It is above all a story of dialogue and sharing. The idea was simple: blend hip-hop dancing, a discipline commonly practiced by the ordinary people in the neighborhoods around Massy, with classical music, which has an elitist reputation, on the stage at the opera house. It wasn't about bringing one into the other's world, but creating a dialogue between two worlds that are believed to be diametrically opposed. In a very pragmatic way, Classic Hop’us takes advantage of the Association SupréMassy's end-of-year show to get members of the association and young people from nearby areas to perform together in a single space, accompanied by 12 musicians from the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Massy ensemble.
