National Museums of Kenya

National Museums of Kenya
Nairobi, Kenya

A curved stick about three inches long used for cleaning gourds particularly milk gourds. It is collected by women from a tree and the frayed end is used as a scourer to remove anything adhering to the inside of the gourd which is then swirled out with cow urine or water and then cleaned with the stick again before being smoked.
