Clive Rowlands wore this jersey when he made his international debut for Wales v England on a bitterly cold Cardiff Arms Park in 1963. Clive played for Wales in 14 successive international matches and captained his country in each of those matches. In 1965 he led Wales to the Triple Crown. Although a man of West Wales Clive was capped while playing in Pontypool. After he retired from playing Rowlands was elected as a Vice President of the WRU, appointed to coach Wales, became Team Manager for the Lions team in Australia in 1989 and that year was also appointed President of the WRU. Nicknamed Top Cat, Clive gave outstanding service to Welsh Rugby.
