Street corner view of Shiv Shanti Bhuvan, an Art Deco apartment building situated on Maharshi Karve Road along Oval Maidan. Designed by Merwanji Bana & Co for Dr Rajjab Ali Patel, this building is a part of the first set of buildings that were erected on the Backbay Reclamation Scheme. With its distinct chajjas protecting the interiors from the harsh glare of the sun, the building is also referred to as the 'Eyebrow Queen' of Mumbai.

Notice the red and yellow bands highlighting the curvilinear and continuous eyebrows on the building facade. The geometric details can be seen under every window sill and green reeding details along the crown of the street corner facade accentuate the verticality of the building.

This heritage property is a part of 'The Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai', a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was inscribed to the list on June 30, 2018.
