Plate from George Walker's 'The Costumes of England', published 1814. - The worker is cropping or trimming woollen cloth with shears after combing it with teasels to raise the nap. Damp cloth is laid on a shear board, and pressure increased by placing heart-shaped weights on the flat surface.
