Kalaga textile, in two registers, depicting scenes from the Nemi Jataka, one of the ten great Jatakas (stories of the Buddha's previous lives). Made of black velvet with applied cloth (cotton and felt), sequins and glass, and embroidery. King Nemi is taken by the god Sakka's charioteer, Matali, to view the heavens and the hells. The king then gives a sermon in Sakka's heaven.
