Tony Cruz Pabón uses conceptual strategies to reflect on his environment. The graphite drawings that make up Nube denote the artist’s interest in abstraction and accumulation. Nube makes visible the invisible processes of condensation and evaporation, interrogating everyday subtleties. Contemplating how rain and humidity affect our relationship with the environment, Cruz Pabón invokes the lightness of a cloud without an interest in capturing it. Nube is a cluster of drawings and objects that poetically links their accumulation with cloud formation, references to songs that mention rain, and gestures towards the popular practice of trying to prevent rain by placing an inverted glass on a plate.
