Coffee as a Dish

An Oromo woman is holding up the traditional Oromo food known as Buna Qalaa. Buna Qalaa, literally meaning /coffee slaughtering/ is a traditional meal prepared by drying ripe coffee beans and toasting it in a pot of distilled butter. Buna Qalaa is served during the Gadaa ceremony indicating the unique history of the Oromo people and coffee.
