Stamped in Milan during the rule of Gallienus, it depicts the emperor who has the heir to his father Valerian - killed after a defeat in Edessa in 260. Though Gallienus went on to win a number of military battles,
he was unable to prevent the secession of important provinces. His 15-year reign was the longest since the 19-year rule of Caracalla.
