Huge amount of Chinese coins were recovered from Cirebon wreck, they consist of lead, with square holes in their centre, surrounded by four Chinese characters. During that period Chinese coins were used as small change in markets, some were simply melted down to obtain bronze which was then reshaped into other forms.
