This French coin, marked "1942 Franc," was discovered during a construction project in the park. On the reverse, it says "TRAVAIL. FAMILLE. FRANC.", the motto of Vichy France (1940-1944) meaning Job and Family. This replaced the Republican motto "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." The reverse says "ETAT FRANCAIS" meaning French State, or Vichy France.
