An Italian jeweller based in Arquà Petrarca in the Veneto region, Babetto has spent many years sharing the wisdom of his craft as both lecturer and professor. His highly original work has led to solo exhibitions across Italy as well as in Germany and Australia. Using the geometric shape of the cube as a point of departure, Babetto reconfigures both size and colour to create a gold necklace of harmonic form. An array of strikingly fragile components, the result is a delicate, suspended expression of equilibrium. A commitment to purity of form creates a quieter visual dialogue, silencing any trace of an over-stated narrative with a more skeletal, minimalistic structure, inviting more unalloyed interpretations to flourish in its place.
