This appliance was used to iron separate shirt collars and make sharp creases in trousers. It was patented by R. R. Bollman in 1932 (US patent 1,889,432). The device has a wooden handle fitted with a 37 watt tubular heating element. An electric lead runs through the handle. Two chrome-plated flaps pressed together by a spring are mounted on the tubular heating element.
