Colonia Dacica Sarmizegetusa was the first and only one Roman city founded during the time of Emperor Trajan. It was founded after the official end of the second war between the Romans and the Dacians, more precisely in 109-110. The area of the temples, the amphitheater, the Domus Procuratoris and the forum of the Roman city were archaeological excavated.
