Leptinotarsa decemlineata is commonly referred to as Colorado potato beetle, Colorado beetle, ten-stripe spearman, or ten-line potato bug. It has a bright yellow and orange body marked with brown stripes. They are found throughout most of the United States and Mexico, and are considered a pest for potatoes and other crops. Females can lay up to 800 eggs an Colorado potato beetles are resistant to many insecticides.
